Community Guidelines

Child sexual abuse and exploitation

Ghumify has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.

You must not create, upload, request, distribute, promote or facilitate:

• child sexual abuse material
• sexualized images or videos of children
• synthetic or AI-generated CSAM
• grooming
• sextortion
• child trafficking
• sexual solicitation involving a child
• attempts to arrange sexual interaction with a child
• links or instructions intended to facilitate such activity

This rule applies even where the activity is proposed to occur outside Ghumify.

Sexual content

Ghumify does not permit:

• pornography
• nudity intended for sexual display
• sexually explicit content
• sexual solicitation
• prostitution-related solicitation
• non-consensual intimate imagery
• content primarily intended for sexual gratification

Ghumify is a travel community, not an adult-content or sexual-services platform.

Harassment and threats

Do not:

• threaten people
• repeatedly harass someone
• intimidate or bully
• encourage coordinated harassment
• stalk
• blackmail or extort
• retaliate against reporters
• repeatedly contact someone after being blocked or told to stop

Hate and dehumanizing abuse

Content attacking or dehumanizing people based on protected personal characteristics is prohibited.

Political or social discussion may be allowed when it does not violate these rules. Disagreement is not permission to threaten, harass or dehumanize others.

Privacy and doxxing

Do not publish another person’s:

• private home address
• private phone number
• private email
• government identifier
• exact private location
• live location
• emergency-contact details
• future travel plan
• other sensitive personal information

without appropriate permission.

Non-consensual location sharing

Never use Ghumify to monitor, expose or track another person without their knowledge or permission.

Do not forward someone’s live location or private trip details merely because they shared them with you.

Impersonation

Do not pretend to be another user, a government official, a guide, a business, a Ghumify administrator, a public authority or an organization in a deceptive manner.

Parody or commentary must not misleadingly present itself as authentic.

Fraud and scams

Prohibited conduct includes:

• phishing
• payment scams
• fake giveaways
• fraudulent travel offers
• impersonation scams
• malicious links
• account theft
• deceptive sponsorship
• fake verification claims
• manipulating users into disclosing credentials

Spam

Do not:

• mass-message users
• repeatedly post identical promotional content
• send unsolicited commercial messages
• create accounts for bulk spam
• abuse mentions or comments
• manipulate engagement
• flood reporting systems

Illegal goods and services

Do not use Ghumify to facilitate illegal goods or services.

This includes prohibited transactions involving drugs, weapons, exploitation, trafficking or other unlawful activity.

Drugs

Do not promote, sell or facilitate illegal recreational drugs.

Travel discussion that incidentally references lawful cultural, historical or news context is not permission to promote illegal activity.

Alcohol

Limited lawful, non-promotional travel content involving alcohol may be permitted.

It must not:

• encourage dangerous consumption
• glorify intoxicated driving
• target minors
• promote illegal sales

Graphic violence

Graphic depictions of serious injury, mutilation or death are prohibited.

Documentary or newsworthy context does not automatically make graphic material appropriate for Ghumify.

Terrorism and violent extremism

Do not:

• praise or recruit for terrorist organizations
• promote violent extremist ideology
• distribute propaganda intended for recruitment
• facilitate terrorism
• provide operational assistance for violent attacks

Dangerous travel misinformation

Do not knowingly publish false information that could place travelers at serious risk.

Examples include fabricated claims concerning:

• permits
• dangerous routes
• road closures
• rescue access
• weather emergencies
• restricted areas
• safety conditions

If information changes, correct it when reasonably possible.

Unsafe challenges

Never encourage someone to:

• trespass
• enter restricted land
• ignore warnings
• climb unsafe structures
• take dangerous routes
• use Ghumify while driving
• place themselves at serious risk for XP or recognition

No Ghumify reward justifies unsafe conduct.

GPS and check-in fraud

Do not:

• spoof GPS
• fabricate visits
• use mock-location tools to obtain rewards
• manipulate device or location signals
• collude to create false verification
• abuse multiple accounts
• automate fake check-ins
• otherwise manipulate competitive rankings

Leaderboard manipulation

Do not coordinate activity primarily to create false competitive results.

This includes account trading, fraudulent check-ins and other artificial manipulation.

Copyright and other rights

Only share content you have the right to use.

Credit is not a substitute for permission.

Do not upload:

• stolen photographs
• unlicensed music
• copied tourism descriptions
• copyrighted video you do not have rights to use
• other infringing content

AI-generated content

AI-generated content is permitted where it complies with these Guidelines.

Materially AI-generated content must not be presented deceptively as:

• verified travel evidence
• an authentic check-in
• a real safety condition
• an official notice
• another person’s genuine photograph or statement

Label materially AI-generated content where required by Ghumify.

Trips and groups

User-organized trips must not be used for:

• harassment
• sexual solicitation
• exploitation
• illegal activities
• misleading participants about organizer identity or safety

Do not add or expose another person’s private information without permission.

Events

Event information must be honest about:

• organizer
• activity
• location
• date
• eligibility
• material risks
• cost where applicable

Do not falsely represent an unofficial event as being organized or endorsed by Ghumify.

Respect blocks and boundaries

If someone blocks you, stop contacting them.

Creating or using another account to bypass a block is prohibited.

Reporting

Use the in-app Report function on the relevant content, message, profile, trip, event or other supported item.

For child-safety concerns, select Child Safety where available.

Do not attach or forward suspected CSAM.

How moderation works

Ghumify uses a combination of technical controls, user reports and human review.

Automated tools may help identify:

• suspicious uploads
• spam
• malicious files or links
• unusual account activity
• other safety concerns

Automation does not independently impose permanent account bans. The number of reports alone does not automatically determine whether content violates these Guidelines.

Possible outcomes

Ghumify may:

• take no action
• request information
• remove content
• warn a user
• restrict messaging
• restrict posting
• invalidate a check-in
• reverse invalid rewards
• suspend an account
• permanently ban an account

Serious child exploitation may result in permanent removal and legally required reporting.

Appeals

When a moderation decision is appealable, the notice will explain how to appeal.

Ordinary appeals should normally be submitted within 7 days.

A different moderator reviews ordinary content and account appeals.

Serious sanctions and prize or fraud appeals are reviewed by another administrator. Permanent bans receive human review.

Malicious reports

Do not knowingly submit false reports to harass another person.

Malicious abuse of reporting systems may itself lead to enforcement.
